A three-silicon transistor design for classic boost and overdrive. If the airship etching on the enclosure is any indication, one can safely assume that the sound of the Z•O•D was inspired by early Led Zeppelin tones, in a tribute that reinterprets what made those tones so great in the history of rock. It was truly in the midst of the golden era of rock tones in the late 1960s to early 1970s, in which the electric guitar was mated to the perfect pairing of transistor drive pedals and tube amplifiers. The Z•O•D is able to produce tones ranging from clean boost to overdrive to all-out fuzz, with a diverse range of timbres and gain, recalling the golden era of elements that made such classic rock tones a staple of that generation. This wide range of sounds starts with a highly dynamic range of headroom as a boosting pedal, and with dedicated tone controls can allow a span of tones that includes light overdrive up to saturated fuzzy tones. With a high impedance input design, it is strongly recommended that low impedance signals do not precede the pedal (buffered bypass pedals or active pickups, etc.).
