Avalon guitars are played by artists including: Jan Akkerman, Def Leppard, Bob Geldof, David Gray, Andy McKee, The Band Perry, Bruce Springsteen, Terry Lewis, Michael Hedges, Nik Kershaw, Sinead O'Connor and many many more.

This guitar was the first signature model made by Avalon by the luthiers who worked under George Lowden. George Lowden licensed Lowden to Avalon and farmed-out the men he had trained under Lowden guitars. This guitar is the product of those men. It is similar to the Lowden Stage model in most details. Only 50 were made.

Jacques Stotzem is a world famous Belgian fingerstyle artist who had always played Lowdens previously. He is often compared to Leo Kottke, Paco de Lucia, Neil Young and Keb' Mo'.

Here is what Jacques said about this guitar:

"The first time I tried the Avalon was at the factory last year. I was really blown away. It was quite good. It was different from the Lowden but coming from the same family. I really do like the Avalon. I have been playing Lowden for maybe seven or eight years now. And now I have this signature guitar and I really prefer it."

Electronics: This is the only Avalon model sold that included this higher end Fishman Dual Blender system. Just wonderful.

From another owner on the Fishman: "I have two Martins and a Fylde and this guitar is right up there with them as acoustic for playability and projection. As an amplified guitar it beats them all - just have to listen to it on the Aura site alongside Martin D35, OM21 and Gibson SJ - it rocks."

REASON FOR SELLING: I LOVE LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! I have a Martin OM-28V that is my one keeper guitar. This Avalon BLOWS IT AWAY!!!. BUT, my 70 year old shoulders are in pain when I play anything larger than an OM, so I am selling my three larger guitars (Larrivee LV-04RE, Furch D20-CM) and this one. It is the killer guitar of all 22 guitars I have ever owned. It pains me to sell but...my body dictates it leave with the others. 

You will love the depth, complexity of the overtones, ease of play and the sweet magic tone it provides with even a very light touch. Excellent like Lowdens when using alternative tunings like DADGAD, Open G, etc.I will forever miss this guitar.
