I'm selling my 1987 Japanese made Ibanez RG550. I picked this up years ago when I had dreams of being a shredder. Unfortunately, I just don't have the skills to be the next Steve Vai. Also I need to buy a new fridge. Alas, the shred machine must go.

The ultra thin Super Wizard rosewood guitar neck has minimal wear and the original frets are still in great shape. The Floyd Rose bridge works great and the original pickups were upgraded with Fender Lace Sensor pickups for hot rod tone with reduced hum - as such the pickguard is not original. There are some blemishes on the body that I've captured in the photos here. There is a crack in the finish on the neck pocket but it does not affect playing at all. There's some wear on the backplate and the tuners but overall, it's in great shape for a 30-year old instrument.

The 1980s RG-550 was just reissued as a part of the Ibanez Genesis Collection and they'll run you $1000 at every major retailer. Here's your chance to get a better built, original Fujigen model for $250 less than the new reissues. Also, I'll throw in an ugly but totally functional hard case.
