Starforce 8000 series electric guitar from late 1980’s – One for the collectors

Treat yourself to a little bit of history. There’s not many of these available and it’s a great player with a super-smooth Maple neck and strat body.

This is the Starforce 8003 Model.

Considering it’s from the late 1980’s, this guitar is in good order. It has a few knocks on the body. They are mostly on the back and buckle-rash related. The headstock, tuners and neck are in great condition. The machine covers have small dents in them. The finger board is lacquered and free from any obvious wear. On the back of the Maple neck there is a small mark just behind the first fret.

A little about the makers: The Starforce Company began in 1988. They built medium-quality guitars loosely based around the original Stratocaster body. The guitars were produced in Korea for “Tropical Music” of Miami, Florida. They made an earlier series of “6000” models but followed up with the 8000 series using “USA” as the model. The full model range went from 8000 through to 8009.

The 8009 was a strat shaped electro acoustic hollow-body. The rest of the model bodies varied between laminated and solid. All models had Maple necks with Rosewood finger boards. Most necks were bolt-on.

These Miami-based models were not actually sold in the USA. Their market was S America, Central America, The Caribbean and B.V.I.

Pickups were SKORCHERZ and varied from h/s/h to s/s/s/. This particular guitar retains 2 of the original Skorcherz pups. It now has an EMG fitted in the centre.

The stand in the pictures is not included in the sale.
