This is our personal microphone so we know it well. It's in absolute MINT as-new condition.

We used it on a handful of occasions for recording a jazz drum kit, placing it between the snare and high-hats taking advantage of its omnidirectional pattern so it would "hear" both pieces and while making placement simple.

The compact size of the SM63, built-in low cut below 80Hz, and relatively flat extended frequency response [up to 20kHz] worked exceptionally well for the application, mostly rejecting the kick and toms plus saved us valuable input real estate on our mixer. 

We compared it to the industry standard EV RE-50 and for our application the SHURE SM63 sounded more natural.
