Kawai K1r OS 1.4 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT

• This version 1.4 is the latest operating system released by Kawai for the K1r.
• Included will be 1 new ATMEL EPROM chip, recently manufactured to ensure data integrity well past our natural lifetime.
• I do not use 35+ year old UV EPROMS that are prone to bit rot, a major cause of data instability with vintage equipment of this era.

Please keep mind that the Kawai K1r itself is not for sale, only the EPROM upgrade chip will be supplied.

Unlike some others, No used or refurbished as “new” components will be supplied here.

• The version 1.4 firmware upgrade contains several bug fixes, improved stability and finalized system code optimizations.
• Please remember that this upgrade is only compatible with the K1r and not K1m or the K1. Send me a message if you need help with finding upgrades for them.
• Before purchasing it is best to verify which firmware your K1r is currently running: Simply hold the SYSTEM button then power on the K1r, The firmware version will be prompted on the screen.

Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.

All EPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment and will be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
