Vintage 1932 Gibson L-00 Prototype With Hardshell Case

Early 1932 model Gibson L-00 prototype … a one-of-a-kind guitar . An in house mock -up with yellow factory finish and hand painted Gibson logo on headstock, hand painted blocks around soundhole, and faux tortoise shell pickguard.

Extra thin, almost seamless, red spruce top and solid, non kerfed, steam bent lining. Knife sharp scalloped braces and super light build! Raised fretboard and three on a plate Grover tuners.

This example has a fine voice!  Crystal-clear sound with a booming low end, dry sustain all the way up the fretboard and bright mid range without a hint of shrillness. Ideal for single-note finger picking leads. This guitar has an openness of tone that Gibson golden age acoustics are famous for! Just a bit shy of 1 3/4″ at the nut with a comfy, soft "V" profile neck.

Has a FON ink stamped, as seen through the soundhole, of 64, dating this guitar to 1932. There is a very faint Gibson stamp in block letters upside down at the top of the neck block

The guitar has a long, glued up crack on the bass side. A crack on top that runs under the pickguard. Finishes are in very nice condition.Don't know if the back and sides are original finish or not. Some wear to the fretboard and frets. Action is a very respectable 1/8 " at the 12th fret and the truss rod is functional if you wish further adjustment. Correct tuners and buttons, bridge and bridge plate are unmolested.

Comes with it's original hardshell case with case key. A very rare combination.
