Up for sale is an early 1980's DeArmond Model 1930 "Twister" Phase Shifter plus a free IEC Power Cable from D'Addario.

The phaser comes with the original box, instruction sheet from DeArmond and the upper half of the warranty card. 9VDC battery included.

Pots are clean, no scratchiness, and date to 1981 (CTS number 1378116).

Pedal is in really good shape for being 37 years old. There are some minor scrapes below the "Made In The USA" from stomping on the box. There are also several scrapes on the bottom. See photos.

The original box shows signs of wear and some moisture damage on the bottom of the box. I would rate the original box as in "Good" condition.

Operating Instructions:
1. The "Intensity" Control allows you to adjust the depth of the phasing sound from a mellow or normal sound to a deep or rich sound, or anywhere in between.

2. The "Rate" Control allows you to adjust the speed of the phasing to match your music.

3. The push button switches the effect in or out (on or off, please note this was not manufactured with an LED indicator light).

4. To change the batteries remove the four rubber feet, unclip the old battery and replace it with a new one. To preserve battery life, unplug the plug from the INST jack when not using the phaser. (please note this is set up run on a 9VDC battery only, there is no jack for an external power supply. One could be added but I'm not going to alter this pedal from its original state.)

Special Note:
Your Twister phase shifter contains special peaking circuits to give you an extremely deep phasing. When used with "hot" pickups, these peaking circuits can cause distortion. Therefore, an attenuator has been designed into the unit and preset at the factory to avoid this distortion. If you do not have "hot" pickups, the attenuator which is mounted on the INST jack, can be adjusted in a clockwise direction to increase the output of the phaser. (The attenuator is internal. You would need to open the unit to adjust this)
