Hey there guitar enthusiasts. I am letting go of my handmade, one-of-a-kind, steel string acoustic which was built by me 14 years ago. It has a warm mid-rangey sound with smooth trebles and focused basses making it an ideal instrument for fingerstyle, but she also excels at blues, jazz, and strumming, please see/listen to the guitar via the youtube clip below.
This guitar is constructed with Pau Ferro for the back & sides, a Western Red Cedar top, spruce bracing, Ebony custom hand-carved bridge, ebony fingerboard & pins, with abalone inlay.
The handmade rosette, hand-carved volute, and inlay on the bottom all add to the uniqueness of this instrument.
The quarter-sawn Honduran Mahogany neck is joined to the body in the traditional Spanish method resulting in incredible sustain, resonance, & stability.
The peg-head veneer and heel cap are made from Zircote, and the inlaid truss-rod cover is Cocobolo.
It features a scalloped bone nut (1.83") and a recently added extra wide bone saddle (0.22") that helped balance and open up the basses quite a bit. The scale length is 650mm or 25 19/32" making it ideal for players with larger hands.
The fretboard sports a 20" radius, and the neck has a fairly shallow and fast(!) profile measuring 3/4" thick from the first fret up to the 10th. A Florentine cutaway along with the wide/flat heel allows easy access all the way up to the 21st fret.
The upper bout measures 10 7/8" and the lower bout is 15 1/8" across. Body depth is 3 3/4" at the heel and 4 3/8" at the bottom. Weighing only 4 1/2 lbs. makes it easy for you to play for hours on end, getting lost in the beautiful tones emanating from the soundhole which is just under 4" diameter.
She is completely finished in French Polished shellac which allows the instrument to "breathe" and express her true voice to the fullest extent possible. As opposed to thick plastic finishes which are more durable but stifle vibrations and consequently the sound. Just be aware that this finish is easily damaged by alcohol and aggressive handling, but is also easily repaired by a competent finisher.
Mini chrome Grover tuning machines, a two-way truss rod, and highly polished medium nickel-silver frets round out the hardware for this beauty. A hardshell case and humidifier are included with your purchase.
She is strung up with EJ16's. I am letting this old friend go so I can continue to pursue my love for crafting unique, beautiful, resonant guitars and basses.
There aren't any electronics in this guitar, but I can install them if desired, please contact/message me to discuss options, or, if you have any other questions about this guitar. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
