This is an incredible 2001 Jackson Soloist, made in Japan. I have scoured the entire internet and have not been able to find a single other one like this. Consulting with tons of Jackson fans and experts across various forums, the conclusion that we've come to is this was either a prototype for a model that never came to be, or a custom order of some sort for a small private dealer. Regardless, I have never been able to locate another anywhere online.
The serial number stamped into the end of the fretboard dates it to 2001, made in Japan (01XXXX) so this was built pre-Fender buyout. The quality is astounding.
Like many other Jackson Soloists from Japan this has the MOTO sharkfin fretboard inlays, but in a really unusual twist this particular guitar has a real mother of pearl headstock logo.
Other features include EMG direct mount pickups and a 24 fret ebony fretboard with beautiful off-white binding. Incredible upper fret access due to the neck-thru body construction.
This Jackson is in very good shape, just some minor cosmetic wear from being nearly 18 years old (one little ding on the side, and two small chips by the trem cavity). Frets are in great shape with no noticeable wear. Needs a quick set up, but nothing else. Hardshell case included.
