Bring the Bottom with this Top-of-the-Line 5-String Bass!
Description
The Fender American Deluxe Jazz V Bass delivers a truly exceptional 5-string playing experience from top to bottom. When you take it out of the case, you'll immediately notice the custom pots that control the onboard active electronics. This axe actually has its own powered preamp onboard to push sublime active tones. However, it can also run in passive mode as well whenever you like. The fit and finish are distinctive throughout, and numerous fine hardware details set this Deluxe model in the top tier of all Fender Jazz Basses.
Great Woods, Thoughtful Design
The American Deluxe Jazz V is constructed from an alder body carved with a strongly contoured heel for upper fret access. The maple neck is carved in a modern, asymmetrical "C" shape that many bassists believe delivers a more natural feel at every point on the neck. It is finished with a handsome tinted gloss polyurethane. The fingerboard is bound rosewood with a compound-radius, 9.5 - 4-inch evolving neck, cut to ensure equally perfect intonation of notes at every single point on the neck. The scale length is a familiar 34 inches. You'll appreciate the rolled fingerboard edges and highly detailed nut and fret work, with inlays on 10 of the 21 medium jumbo frets.
Fantastic Active/Passive Electronics
The stars of the show on this marvelous J Bass are Fender's newly redesigned N3 Noiseless pickups. They deliver a degree of headroom that is unprecedented for a Jazz Bass. The low response is extraordinarily tight and lends itself to the instrument's 5-string range, and the refinement of tone found in fusion or jazz styles. The well-placed controls give you both a Pan Pot pickup selector and a Blend Control. You can tweak your way to great tone with the Treble Boost/Cut, Midrange Boost/But, and Bass Boost/Cut. Whenever you want to switch between Active and Passive modes, simply hit the mini toggle switch.
Lots of Love in the Details
This American Deluxe J Bass' hardware is top-shelf. The tuning keys are Fender's Light Weight Vintage-Style, and the bridge is a High Mass Vintage (HMV) design that ensures some of the most solid and dependable and intonation and resonance of any Jazz Bass. The neck is held in place with a 5-bolt plate.
