Note : For those who are not familiar with binaural recordings : You MUST listen to playback using headphones to hear the true surround sound (front, rear, left, right, up, down).  This is due to the biophysics that binaural microphones such as the Sennheiser MKE2002 exploits.  Separate microphones for left and right captures the unique sound reflections inside real or dummy ear pinnae, therefore separate ear speakers are required for playback to recreate that sound realistically.  Binaural recordings also produce arguably better stereo sound for playback on a typical room loudspeaker system, although that is hotly debated among audiophile recording engineers (vs other microphone stereo arrays such as ORTF, Blumlein, etc).
