From the private collection of Ray Lamontagne comes a unique and genuinely gorgeous Fender Jaguar from 1965. This guitar has a truly brilliant glow to it and is in incredible condition overall.
This guitar was recently examined by the pros at Chicago Music Exchange and they have determined that despite the freshness of the sunburst, it is indeed an original finish. The neck and pots date to 1965, but it appears, according to their observations, that the body may actually be earlier from the pre-CBS Fender era, though this is impossible to verify exactly.
There is a little bit of wear and tear on the body with small scratch near the upper control plate on the top horn along with a super small hairline finish crack at top horn where the body meets the neck. Additionally, there are a few little knicks and scratches throughout the arm contour with some buckle-rash on the back. All these marks are very superficial and this guitar is in amazing shape for its age.
This guitar is mostly original with original electronics, though there is a Mastery bridge and stay bar installed. This also appears to be a replacement white pickguard though the original is included.
The neck has the thinness you expect from a '65 Jag and is a breeze to play up and down. The frets are a little worn but play evenly without fret noise or buzz. There is finish checking on the back and front of the headstock with some yellowing to the neck binding, as well as some imperfections to the binding on the bottom side but nothing that can be felt or that impedes playing.
Includes original case which has some some wear and tear and is missing the R off the Fender logo but is in very solid condition like the guitar. Will ship with certificate of authenticity signed by Ray.
This is a truly unique instrument, don't hesitate to make an offer or ask any questions.
