It's a mini Flying V guitar! Made by Maestro (part of Gibson which created Gibson Baldwin Music Education division in 2005), this hard-to-find baby brother of Gibson's famous Flying V is a blast for adults to play but also fun for younger, beginning music students with smaller hands. This little rocker has a 19" scale and a single humbucker which really cranks out the tones. Nice sealed tuners, a volume control and a wraparound bridge like the old '54 Les Pauls and Melody Makers. This one's in good shape with a lustrous red glossy finish; there are a few small dings here and there. But overall it's in great shape for a guitar that's over a decade old.
The Roadie has been set up with new old stock Gibson strings recently installed and the action has been adjusted nice and low. Electronics work fine.
Because of the short scale, it's recommended to tune up to A or G (for 1st and 6th strings). With that tuning, wait till you hear how far your bends go. It's a blast to play blues or metal with this guitar; I'm no shredder, but I've posted a short video demonstrating how strong this pickup is played through an pedal with overdrive.
These are getting rarer because I believe this version (and Epiphone's) has been discontinued. And lots of people want to have one in their collection. This will ship with a strap, a coiled guitar cord and a small Maestro amplifier that was included with the set. The amp has some problems with it but might be repairable. Also the set comes with a padded gig bag that has a compartment for that small amp; the outer compartment zipper is broken but likely can be fixed. The compartment for the guitar is fine and that zipper works fine.
But it's the ultra cool mini Flying V with the hot pickup that is what you're looking for. Search around for youtube links for demos and you'll see why everyone wants one of these.
