Klira Mid-60’s 500/1 “Beatle Bass” Copy
Klira was founded in 1887 in Schoenbach, Germany and manufactured mainly violins until the 1950s when they began producing guitars and basses. This is a copy of the Hofner model 500/1 "Beatle Bass".
Basically, if you didn’t have a Hofner dealership that you could drive too, this is the bass you would have acquired in it’s stead. And this bolt on neck is more desirable, because you can adjust the neck angle with a shim, and with the adjustable bridge, you have options.
Fully functional. Action is clean right now. Big, earthy tone. Super thin neck is great for small hands. This one has spectacular Nitro-Cellulose finish checking on the top and peg head.
