Welcome to Musicdungeon. This is the 1990's Yamaha Japan VG Standard 'Violin' Electric Guitar. 24.75" scale length. 1.66" nut width. 7.30 lbs.
We recently acquired a large guitar collection. Everything from the exceptionally cool to the exceptionally rare. So please keep an eye on our store, we have a lot of exciting pieces coming up.
This beauty was made in very sparing numbers in the mid to late 90's in Japan. Some have said they were made specifically for a guitar show, but there is very little info available on them.
The body is solid mahogany with a figured maple top- the classic tonewood combo. This gives you fantastic low end with that classic midrange push.
Grabbing up that natural tone are a pair of P90 style single coil pickups. These bring in those incredible deep cleans with just the right amount of brilliance off the bridge position. Add in overdrive and these pickups open up beautifully with complex mids. When overdriven the neck pickup has some of the thickest sustain you're likely to find. This one is a true tone machine.
Japan has always been known for their comfortable necks and this one is a perfect example. The maple neck here is .83" deep at the 5th fret with a C profile. Super comfortable while the bolt on design provides good tone transfer with nice articulation. Add to that the 15" fretboard radius and you have a true player.
The look here is beautiful- sunburst finish showing off the figured top, bound body, offset dot inlays, bound headstock, and gold hardware.
This VG Standard is in very good overall condition- typical marks/light compressions from normal use- nothing that affects the performance whatsoever. The frets here are clean- set up with action just 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This listing includes the hardshell case in pics. For those allergic, this guitar was owned by a smoker for decades.
This is your chance to get your hands on a very rare Yamaha Japan example for the price you want. Don't pass this by.
