The video down there is of this exact guitar for sale!
These 1124 guitars were among the first of the two pickup electric guitars made by the Valco company.  Additionally this 1954 model was one of the first guitars to feature the now famous Valco single coils.  Before this year, it seems like the pickups were all plastic covered but with this model the pickups were chrome covered and were attached to the neck and the bridge.  So interesting!  It's the first time I've seen one of these and this attachment was only used for a year or two.  Anyway, it's cool, it's rare, and it's a nice surviving document of electric guitar history.
So on to the guitar, it plays very well and everything works great.  We cleaned all the electronics and gave it the once over.  The neck is straight and doesn't have the dreaded "Valco twist."  Frets are vintage small but it frets fine up and down the neck.  If you wanted to use this as an everyday player then you'd need to further tweak it to your playing style but as it sits I could play this all day!  The thick pick guard that covers the wiring has a crack near the output jack but it's fine really.  Also as you can see in the pics the logo is gone.  It shows average play wear for the age but it sure does play better than average!
