1963 Ampeg B15N FlipTop Bass Amp
This is my 16th Ampeg B15 FlipTop restoration - my best yet! This amp is heart-achingly beautiful and a tone machine. So many cool vintage features, some unique to the early FlipTops: all vintage tubes, tested strong; double-baffle; original knobs, logos, octal/amphenol plug; a beautiful vintage CTS square magnet speaker. This amp is SUPER clean and functionally flawless, with a thorough checkup by one of the Southeast's top vintage amp techs. Serial number 301375 indicates it was made in January 1963. 

The Ampeg B15 Fliptop is considered by many to be the Holy Grail of bass amps, found in countless pro studios. This particular specimen will NOT disappoint. This is a classic, lifetime-keeper amp. I will ship the head and cabinet separately, both VERY well packed, to ensure safe arrival.

FEATURES AND CONDITION

• TONE: Amazing! I can provide a demo. There is a reason so many serious studios have a B15 on hand. 
  
• TUBES: All vintage and tested strong. Original Ampeg 5U4 and 6SL7 pre's. A sweet matched pair of ANOS Sylvania 6L6 power tubes from KCA NOS Tubes (logo'ed Amperex and RCA). Great tubes are key to your tone. 
  
• SPEAKER: 1968 15" CTS square-magnet speaker (137-6823), my favorite for B15's based on A/B'ing many options. The CTS wins with the classic sound, warm and defined. My own B15 has a CTS. It was just reconed so no coil rub or other bad behavior. Original speaker wiring. 
  
• TOLEX AND GRILL: The grill-cloth is tight and clean, with one minor gaffe, see the embedded pics below. The original tolex is all tight, no loose ends and nearly perfect. There are a few scruffy and spliced areas which you won't notice until you look closely. Again, please look at the embedded pics below. 
  
• CHASSIS: Original knobs, tube cage and plexi logo, which lights up perfectly. Chrome is super clean, some pitting but little/no tarnish. Lettering in excellent condition. The tray is solid and clean. 
  
• CABINET: Very clean and solid. Shockmounts in good condition. Vintage latches work great. Super cool octal / amphenol speaker input. The schematic under the tray is intact but stained. Original handle. New gasket, providing a nice tight fit for the head (these MUST be replaced). Original metal logo! Tilt rod included. Insulation in back is nice and clean. 
  
• CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH: Fully checked out by one of the Southeast's top vintage amp techs. New power transformer - this is a good thing, as these can fail. I've relic'ed it so you will have to guess which one is new. All tubes tested strong. Cleaned all pots and jacks. 3-prong power cord.
