This is a rare early Schaefer Archtop Acoustic Guitar. Model Mike Overly Custom.
Beautiful early hand-carved serial #5 from 1999 - 00599 - see photo inside f-hole
The top is unusually thin for a large body archtop guitar at 5/32" and sounds very lively, articulate and responsive.
Comes from a private non-smoking guitar collection and spent the past 18 years mostly in it's case in a climatized room.
The binding has signs of shrinkage at the neck, headstock, f-holes and tailpiece. The back of the neck has a small chip in the finish between frets 6 and 7 - see photo.
