The 1959 3 pickup Les Paul is part of our 2013 Benchmark Limited Run Guitars that we commissioned the Gibson Custom Shop to produce. These are guitars that are designed to be the very best of the best. From the hand selected wood to the Custom wound pickups and combined with features that you just won't see anywhere else.

The simple yet dramatic changes have elevated this year's Historic Reissue to the "one to have" status. The Custom Bucker pickups have been rewound to our spec to give it the closest reproduction of that classic "59 sound to date. The 3 Custom wound pickups have 3 separate volume controls and a master tone control. There is also a split coil push/pull pot to make the middle pickup single coil for even more versatility. Gibson is using 1-piece  dark rosewood fingerboards just as they did in '59. The mahogany body and neck are stained with aniline dye as the original was to give them the richest and deepest color and grain detail while allowing the body's resonance to increase. The neck is now fitted with hide-glue which will help with resonance as well. The  Kluson “Deluxe” tuners have been redesigned to be the most accurate reproductions yet. The body binding has been accurately darkened for more of a correct vintage look.
