Roland VS-2480 CD OS 2.5 160GB - FOR PARTS or Repair - NOT WORKING -

For sale is a Roland VS2480CD that is NOT WORKING CORRECTLY & IS FOR PARTS or repair ONLY!

There are no vs8f-2 cards. Just the VS-2480CD as pictured.

Per the pictures, there are 4 DSP chips on the main board that failed the diagnostic test. All other functions including LCD, LED’s, FADERS, etc...passed the diagnostic test. If you’re handy with that kind of thing or know how to replace the main board, you may be able to get a deal here. Otherwise, the parts alone may have value to you. I don’t know, follow your heart. 

I was able to install and format a BRAND NEW 160GB hard drive (pictured, still in it’s sealed box before I opened and installed) as well as update the OS to the latest version, 2.504

Basically, it powers on and has some functionality. MOST of the time, it’s slow to change screens/functions and it freezes. My diagnosis is the DSP chips on the main board (the diagnostic test tells you specifically which chips) and/or the entire main board itself need to be replaced. I was not able to record or playback anything with this unit with the current main board not functioning correctly. Additionally, the color of the transport controls & faders are faded and there’s superficial marks & surface scrapes on the machine from the previous owner. That stuff is small potatoes, the main board is the big deal here.

I’ll say again, THIS UNIT IS BROKEN, NOT WORKING, FOR PARTS ONLY!
