A favorite couch player at my house, I bought this to restore, as it was heavily over sprayed with something that looked like polyurethane. They didn't bother to cover the sound hole, so you can see it covering the Hoboken label. This guitar was built near the end of the Hoboken era. The top was chemically stripped and sanded down to 1500 grit, so it's ready for lacquer, but we've been playing it as is and might never have gotten around to finishing, since it sounds so nice. I'm selling it here for cash to restore another, so hopefully it will fly off the shelf here or on Ebay.

The string height is less than 2mm at the 1st fret and less than 3mm at the 10th, which is a little higher than I'd like, but the guitar hasn't been set up professionally. The nut width is inch and 11/16. Truss rod works fine and the straight edge doesn't indicate it needs the neck reset, but that day is coming. All the parts except bridge pins are orig. The case is period correct.  When I bought this guitar the bridge had a crack that had me worried, so I bought a new rosewood bridge directly from Guild. My luthier, however, did such a nice job restoring the original I doubt the replacement will ever be needed. It will ship with the guitar. You can buy a correct pick guard from Guild as well, but I like it naked.

Two repaired top cracks can be seen in the photos. The back has some cracks that have been there since I bought it and don't seem to be traveling, but they could use a cleating.  I think the back and sides have been sprayed with a clear coat, and there is a hole where a past owner botched a neck heel strap pin install. The sound hole rosette is missing a small piece or two.

Overall, the guitar has good guts and a bright tone that can handle percussive playing with a stiff flat pick. One of the last out of Hoboken, I'm guessing, They're built sturdy, like a Gibson LG2/3.

Hate to lose it. It's a sweet little player but you can't keep 'em all.

Glad to answer questions and share more photos, but my camera is pretty cheesy so...
