Fender 1973 sunburst Jaguar with rare maple cap 24 " scale neck with the truss rod loaded through the front, this neck has "special" stamped on it from the Fender factory. The slab body is I believe ash wood but it may be alder as well Fender used both and this 73 Jaguar, has a bound maple cap two piece neck with no skunk stripe and black block inlays. This Jaguar has two single coil Fender pups with two vol/tone knobs two roller controls & a 3 way slide selector switch, and another 3 way slide preset switch all on chrome metal plates & the original tremolo arm is included. The electronics are all in good working order and this Jaguar plays very nice with low action. New owner may prefer an updated setup to personal preference. The 22 frets are in very good condition although one fret the 7th fret in particular, shows some play wear more than the other 21 frets. I believe the nut is not original and is newer, other than that this vintage Jaguar is all original as far as I know. The pots are matching dated to 1973 & this Jaguar has a tortoiseshell pick guard, and the hardware is chrome including the Fender tuners. This vintage 73 Jaguar does show some significant dings and dents and on a few areas of the guitar, and some few scrapes and scuffs and other slight marks which are pictured. There is some common surface cosmetic only cracks or crazing to the clear coat finish in a few areas, and some scuffing to the chrome metal areas as well. There is not much to mention as to any belt buckle rash on the backside, overall this 45 yr old Jaguar is in really good condition.  The maple cap neck itself is very nice with a couple very slight dings to the top of the head stock- if you look really hard. The rare maple cap fingerboard on top of the maple neck has been claimed by many players familiar with this neck, to be much better tonally wise than a standard one piece Fender maple neck. These two piece maple cap necks are also very stable and less likely to warp or bow, and reportedly have much different harmonics with a maple cap finger board over a maple neck. Online research with some Fender Guitar forums seem to indicate Fender only made these maple cap necks, for a few years 3-4 at most from about 1967 to the early 70's? This vintage 73 Jaguar will be securely packed with pack paper inside the original HSC, which is showing its age and has some significant wear and tear to it.  This vintage 73 Jaguar in its HSC will be shipped in a sturdy U-line guitar box, with additional packing materials to protect it during the s&h processes. Shipping via Fed Ex Ground insured for the declared value signature delivery required by Fed Ex.
