This is a DIY version of the Hexinverter Mutant Hi Hats module, which I built myself. It is ALMOST fully functional, with the exception of one thing: open hihat decay can only be adjusted using the trim pot on the back of the module. The Decay knob, Decay CV attenuator knob, and Decay CV Input do not do anything. With that said, a more savvy DIY-er should be able to troubleshoot this relatively easily. But please do not buy this item if you are not comfortable with this defect.
NOW... with that said, this module is excellent! Classic 808 hihat sound in 13HP. The OH and HH can be overdriven individually. The two sounds can be set to overlap or be triggered exclusively. The internal noise source that is used as the core sound source can be overridden by an external audio input. The accent trigger input and the built-in filter are just the icing on top.
I am setting the price based on the cost of materials for this build (the PCBs and panel alone were $70!).
