A Used and Vintage National Style 1 Tricone Hawaiian Squareneck Guitar from the National Guitar Company and for sale at the Denver Folklore Center.
Born in 1928, the second year of National instrument production, this 90 year old National Style 1 Tricone Hawaiian Guitar is a wonderful blast from the past. Like any 90 year old instrument it shows some signs of age and features a replaced tailpiece, a nice wood eyebolt for a strap button, and a number of charming scratches, dents. The lower bout has one decent ding that one can only imagine the number of ways it might have got there. However, this piece is not fully rebuilt and features the original tuners, a beautifully intact National headstock decal, and the original spider and cones. The serial number is #634 making it one of the older National Style 1 squarenecks out there. Also included is the instruments original hardshell case.
