• Firmware OS v2.0 is the final released operating system issued by Akai.
• Included will be 1 EPROM chip, which will be labeled accordingly to indicate which IC socket the EPROM is to be installed to.
• Please note: The CD3000XL is not to be mistaken with the CD3000 / CD3000i non-XL series of samplers. They are of completely different architecture and thus require their own separate version of OS 2.0. Check my other auctions if you need support for the non XL Akai S Series samplers, thanks!

The OS v2.0 upgrade primarily focuses on resolving issues caused by Akai’s previously poor non-compliant implementation of the SCSI protocol in its system code. This is especially important for users out there that wish to use their S2000 or S3000XL with MESA II as well as Recycle 2.0.

Personally – I’ve found that most of my issues getting my workstation to detect my S2000 and S3000XL running OS 1.5 were resolved once I upgraded to OS 2.0.

Besure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM toensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed.Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.

AllEPROM upgrades have been prepared in an ESD-safe production environment andwill be packaged in equally ESD-safe materials.
