The video down there is of this very guitar for sale!
And yet another guitar I don't really want to sell but here it is! For those that don't know, I wrote a book about Japanese electric guitars and I managed to find a lot of rare old Japanese guitars over the years. Now that the book is finished I'm slowly selling off most of my gear to fund other projects and fun stuff.
Incredibly rare, impossible to find in the USA, here is the original "rotating pickup" guitar which was a Guyatone original design back in the day. The actual effect on the sound is subtle, and when you watch the video you can hear the effect it has on the tone. Either way, this is just one of those guitars that only seemed to happen in the 60s! Japanese coolness at it's best! Tokyo Sound only produced these for a year, so they are even hard to find in Japan.
Two BIG problems with these guitars are that the pick guards are often cracked (this one survived!) and the neck pickup wiring gets all messed up because of the movement back and forth (we rewired the neck pickup!) but with this example everything is cool and working and solid. This example actually comes with the original tremolo arm (also impossible to find) and a vintage "pleather" gig bag that probably originally came with the guitar.
