Fender Medium Scale 32 inch MIJ Japanese Precision Bass-1988 -Gig Bag/Original Paperwork

These are both some of those Fenders made at Fuji Gakken plant, the hype of this era is well deserved, my main bass for years now is a MIJ 1986 model. This one is a 1988. The bass is a insanely nice player, not sure a better P bass could be had for the coin.

The bass is all original. Its very nice playing and all electronics function flawlessly. The body is a nice clean black finish. The neck has nice action, a straight neck, no fret buzz, the frets are in good shape and the bass has been used so little they have a green tint to them that could be polished off if desired. The electronics work perfect as well. These E serial 1980s Japan Fenders are very well regarded. I have owned many of them but this is the only Medium scale model I have had. The medium scale ones are very scarce. Often you can find some of them same era Medium Scale Japan Squier P bass but Fender produced/logo ones are very rare to find. Currently reverb has some of the squier ones for sale. I included a photo of a tape measure from the 12th fret to the nut measuring 16inches, multiple that by 2 and you have a 32 scale (medium) scale bass.

The condition is very good, the structural and workings of it is great. As you can see the body is very clean, no chips, all the hardware is clean and shiny, I really don't even see dents on the body just light handling marks. The back of the neck is very clean, you can see the back of the neck and headstock have birdseye lightly in the wood. The headstock has a small ding on the front I have shown but 1988 was 30 years ago and I think its held up well considering. Overall a rare and excellent bass.

Ive owned around 5 of this era, all great basses. Pricing this one pretty low for what it is, the Squier labeled ones of this era routinely go for $550-600. Fender logo ones like mine are very rare.

Original gig bag is included, its got some wear but it will get it home safely. Also still has the original brochure with it.
