Known as a sort of revolving door for axe-slingers from the beginning, Megadeth has seen its fair share of shredders over the decades, but perhaps the most renowned is Marty Friedman. Joining the thrash metal legends just in time for their 1990 masterpiece Rust in Peace, Friedman was with Megadeth for its most successful decade, providing a controlled and nuanced counter to Dave Mustaine’s straightforward attack. During his time with Megadeth, Marty used Jackson guitars, particularly the Jackson Kelly, and in 1996 Jackson manufactured a limited run of only 100 signature Marty Friedman Kellys; this is number 27. The Jackson KE1-MF comes with a gold plated Floyd Rose bridge and a Seymour Duncan JB with only a volume knob. The construction is neck-thru, giving this black beauty a sleek look. This thing plays wonderfully, with a nice low action and fast neck for pulling off break-neck Friedman style solos. This piece is in fabulous condition with the only mar being an unfortunate paint chip at the treble side bridge pole. This piece has also been equipped with a Tremol-No, but it can be removed to restore the instrument to all original condition. This beast of a guitar ships in its original hard-shell case with its certificate from Jackson.
