Alembic makes an amazing product and the durability of this 37 year old instrument is the perfect example. This Alembic bass has had one previous owner who was a professional player and this was his main gigging bass. It is extremely smooth to play.
Alembic has producing high-end basses since 1971 and stands as one of the original custom bass shops. The "affordable" Alembic When first released in 1983, the Persuaders were the California builder's first foray into bringing their high end instruments to, if not the masses, than at least the bass playing community with enough scratch to buy a proper instrument. Retaining the elegant lines and super high build quality of their custom builds but in a clean, simple package with an eye towards ease of manufacture, the Persuaders stayed in the line until 1991. She sports a three peice laminated Maple neck, Mahogany body with a Quilted map top and an Ebony fret board. The neck-through construction and brass fittings are typical of the Alembic line and this example has a "P/J" pickup configuration with the single coil at the bridge and the split pick-up at the neck position. She is very clean showing minimal play-wear and retains her brass headstock logo.
