1928 Martin 00-28 Herringbone with Original case

1928 Martin 00-28 12 fret, slot head acoustic guitar with original hard shell fitted case.  

Guitar has original tuners with engraved plates, original grained bridge and end pins and 90% original finish. Nicely tight grained Adirondack Spruce top with beautiful silking and no warping. Straight grained matched brazilian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, brazilian rosewood top plate on headstock, Martin logo imprinted on the back of the headstock. Herringbone and ivoroid trim and nice chevron backstripe. Slotted diamond fret position markers. Guitar was made and braced for steel strings and has always been strung with regular light gauge .12 - .54 phospher bronze strings. 

Neck set, re-fret with original style and size bar frets, replaced old stock ebony pyramid bridge and bone saddle, replaced maple bridge plate.  All work completed by TJ Thompson in 2003. 

Guitar has repaired and cleated cracks in top (3), back (1) and bass bout bass side (1). All are solid and stable. All were done long ago and were inspected and OK'd by TJ in 2003. Top and back have no overspray, bass side bass bout side repair has French polish touch up. 

Original fitted hard Geib case shows wear outside and fading inside but is all intact with original handle and hardware, no funky odors.

Clearly the guitar and case have been played. loved, and owned by professionals throughout their lives.

Guitar weighs 3 pounds. Very woody and sweet sound, good intonation, comfortable action with room on the saddle for adjustment to personal taste. At 12th fret, low E action is .1, high E action is .06".  Neck has comfortable V shape with most of the finish worn away on the back. Frets are fine. 

The guitar has been set up by TJ and needs nothing but it's next owner. 
Local pickup is preferred and I'm open to making arrangements.  Shipping is OK also.
