Here is a 1967 Hagstrom F400 bass in fine shape and 100% original and functional. Cosmetically, the bass is in pretty great shape for a 50 year old instrument. These basses have a wooden body without any vinyl or lucite like other models from this era.   Electronically, this bass is great. Everything works cleanly, with excellent tone. The pickups are strong. The on off mini switch does not function and I am not going to bother with it as I have never used these switches even when they do work, the are fabulously redundant. Serial number 6768519. This bass is ready to gig. These basses were made in Sweden from 1963-1970. These models are becoming more and more sought after, mainly due to the awesome "broomstick"neck. (I have a bunch of Hagstroms and they all are great players). Hagstrom was not really one of the major contenders in the 1960-70's US market because they were expensive to import and didn't really get as much attention as they did in Europe. This model was sold in Europe as an HIIB and in the U.S. as an F400.

The neck is maple with rosewood fingerboard, 21 frets, dot inlay, 31 inch short scale. The action is low and plays great.  Original chrome head tuners. Headstock logo intact. No buzzing, frets are fine. There is a ding at the top of the headstock, shown in last pic.

The bridge is adjustable original, chrome and rosewood.

The electronics work perfectly with nice sounding pickups , excellent tonal variation, all mini switches (minus on/off) works great. There is one switch for each pickup on/off, one switch for tone and one switch for mute. All combinations yield a different great tone (although I rarely use the mute and tone, just because I like things pretty bright) Original black volume knob.

The body has its share of imperfections, checking, dings and scuffs but the finish is not beaten, just wickedly vintage. Awesome fairly uncommon aged arctic white (I have never seen another with this finish, I have a blue one and have had sunburst and red)

Newish round wounds will come detuned for shipping.
