Up for sale is my 2011 Eagle/Lightning Bolt Replica built by Pat O'Donnell of Resurrection Guitars. Pat is a well-known luthier of Jerry Garcia replica guitars. This guitar is a hybrid of Lightning Bolt (the last of Jerry's primary guitars) and Eagle, a guitar Stephen Cripe built for Jerry before Jerry's passing. Lightning Bolt was supposedly going to be Jerry's next primary guitar.  This is my favorite guitar out of all of the guitars that I own. It nails Garcia tones, but just has something "more" about it.  It is extremely resonant and powerful. If I plug my strat into a Twin Reverb, I have to lower the volume by 2-3 if I plug this guitar in because it's just LOUDER. I love it, and the only reason I'm selling it is to deal with the financial hardships of life. Whoever grabs it is going to be very lucky.  Now, for the guitar.

Body - Five layer hippie sandwich. Top and back are "Hurricane Rosewood" as Pat harvested the wood from a 200 hundred year old rosewood that was knocked over during a hurricane. The species of rosewood is still East Indian.  Two thin maple stripes, and a core of black walnut.  The back is especially striking because there is a pale area towards the center that is rosewood heartwood.  There is some very light buckle markings in the back that are only seen under bright light.  The battery cover is also on the back and is made of the same rosewood.
Electronics and Pickups
- 3 Dimarzio Super II's, each with individual coil taps. Standard five-way pickup selector.  Lacquered brass pickup surround.  The combination of coil taps with the five way selector gives an incredible variety of tones to choose from. One master volume control, one tone control for the middle pickup (as Jerry used this most) and one tone for the bridge and neck pickups.  Two input jacks, one that is standard from guitar to amp. The second input jack is for a Y cable that coincides with the guitar OBEL (on-board effects loop). There is a switch on the guitar's body that engages the OBEL.  Jerry pioneered the OBEL as it allows the settings of effects pedals to be preserved at any volume (On regular guitars, a distortion pedal's distortion will be reduced or altered if you lower the volume with the volume knob). The OBEL gets around this. A "Y" cable will be included with your purchase.  You can also run the guitar standard (ie: guitar through effects pedals right to the amp). The guitar also has a Wald Unity Gain Buffer that reduces electronic impedance that occurs in guitar cables. The buffer produces a more pristine tone and contributes to crystalline highs that Jerry was famous for. All other electronics are identical to Lightning Bolt (capacitors, etc.). The electronics compartment is shielded with brass.
Neck and Hardware- 9 ply maple, walnut neck, 1 5/8" width, 12" radius. Brass nut. Mother of pearl dot inlays. 24 frets, 25.5 inch scale.  Headstock-book matched rosewood with mother of pearl Cripe "firecracker" logo. The back of the headstock is also rosewood.  The guitar also has a "volute" before the headstock in the back (see photos) that contributes to sustain and guitar balance. Fret wire-.046" x 103".  Fretboard is bound. Frets are in good shape and still have a lot of life in them. Notes ring clearly across the board. The guitar was set up professionally about 6 months ago. 2 way truss rod. Gotoh Shaller Tuners, with a Gotoh tunamatic bridge.  Stop tail piece is a Shaller Fine-Tuning Stop.
Finish- Nitro Lacquer.
Guitar weighs 9 lbs.

Case-comes with a gator case. I wrote my address and contact info on the case, so you would likely want to get a new one or you could cover up the info with a sharpie.
All in all-one of the best guitars that I've ever had the privilege to play. You won't be disappointed. Reasonable counter offers will be considered. No trades.
