Up for sale, a 1960's Teisco Del Rey K3L ET-312 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Part of what is affectionately known as the "Shark Fin" series of guitars, this Teisco has a deep German Carve on the top, accenting the prominent dual cutaways on the body. With a trio of single coil pickups and a very intuitive array of controls, the ET-312 has a big, bold and barking tone from each of its pickups, with ample bass response. It's a sound that balances brashness with a taut, chiming top end that is still sweet. Each pickup has its own on/off toggle and the additional bass cut switch lets things get delightfully twangy. The guitar weighs in at 7lbs 10oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Teisco has been setup with 10-46 strings and low, comfortable action.

The neck has a big "baseball bat" C shaped profile with generous shoulders and a slab rosewood fretboard. The original slender fretwire is remarkably clean and virtually unplayed with only a hint of wear on the crowns of the plain strings beneath frets 1-3 and virtually no wear further up the board. The scale length measures 24 3/4" when accounting for the zero fret, and the nut width is just shy of 1 5/8". The neck is very straight and the action stays consistently low as you move up the fretboard playing cleanly in all registers with no buzzing or dead spots. The headstock is fitted with an upgrade set of tuning machines that keep the guitar in tune well even with liberal use of the vibrato.

All of the electronics work as intended, with individual volume knobs for each pickup and a master tone control. The vibrato is extremely responsive and smooth and the chrome hardware shows light patina on the tailpiece as well as some scuffing on the striped aluminum pickguard. The finish is a semi-professional refinish in gloss Kelly Green with matching headstock and what is very likely a reissue Teisco Del Rey badge on the headstock face. The neck profile has also been refinished in a smooth satin that feels great on the palm, and additionally a strap button has been added near the neck heel.

A modern gigbag is included.
