This pedal is based off of the preamp section in the legendary ep-3 tape echo units. This pedal is comparable to the dunlop echoplex, the xotic ep boost, and a slew of others. This preamp section has been a secret weapon of guitarist's for many years. It not only can provide a significant volume boost, but can be used as an enhancement tool as well. I personally like to set the pedal just above unity gain to give my amp just a little extra clarity and playability. A great and simple to use tone box. Looks cool too!
