🔩 Overview

Up for sale is a matched pair of TAMA Sound Arc Hoops (14", 10-lug) — a modern upgrade over traditional triple-flanged hoops, designed to enhance rimshots, stick feel, and overall playing response.

These hoops are standard on TAMA’s higher-end S.L.P. and professional snare lines, offering a unique blend of comfort, control, and tonal focus.

A great choice for players upgrading from standard triple-flanged hoops or restoring a TAMA snare to original spec.

🧰 Performance Advantage

Sound Arc hoops feature a subtle inward curve that changes how the stick interacts with the rim:

• More comfortable rimshots
• Improved stick control and rebound
• Slightly more focused tone compared to standard triple-flanged hoops
• Reduced harsh overtones without choking the drum

They sit right between triple-flanged and die-cast in feel — offering control without sacrificing openness.

• Minor handling marks consistent with light use
• Hoops are true and seat properly
• No warping or structural issues

📝 Nick’s Notes

Sound Arc hoops are one of those subtle upgrades that players notice immediately.

They don’t radically change the drum — they refine it. Rimshots feel better, the stick sits more naturally, and the overall response tightens up just enough without losing tone.

If you’ve never tried them, this is an easy upgrade that makes a real difference.
