Willesden EM20015 Transformers.

You want the big beautiul Neve sound in your productions - but don’t want to pay the 3 grand plus Neve bus processors cost?

These magically wonderful transformers will take you most of the way there for a fraction of the cost … and they are proper, vintage transformers Neve actually used in their builds (not some cheap copy that most people knocking together transformer colour boxes use …. which were never used in Neve equipment).

You can hear them in action on TheYouTube if you search for: Vintage Classic Willesden Neve Console Transformers for Mixing, Mastering and Exciting Music Audio

Even at low saturation settings (we use logic’s i/o utility for this) you immediately gain heft and weight, width and classic transformer saturation sheen, bringing mix elements forward and adding excitement to the soundstage, and the harder you push into them - the more of this you get - until things fall into hyper distortion … but even then it’s musical so useful for elements in a mix.

I added a switchable passive diode distortion circuit to enhance audio even further which turns this rack into a superb creative device as well as a mix / bus sweetener.

Run your vocals / bass / synths and drums etc hard into these babies to hear them blow up in the most satisfyingly musical way … it’s a thing of beauty!

At low saturation settings with the diodes turned on - it’s a lovely thing to master through - like turning the lights on - but with none of the nasty plugin smeariness - plus the gentle clipping means your compressor has to work less hard - which is always a plus!

Neve used the Marinair company for most of it’s transformers, but when they couldn’t keep up with the orders - Willesden were called in!

There’s a transformer geek online that actually took apart Marinair and Willesden transformers to compare the builds and said they were nearly identical - so you know you’re getting top quality vintage transformers here that were actually used in vintage / classic Neve gear - notably the 8108 and 5104 mixing desks which sounded big, fat and beautiful!!

Balanced jacks in and out.

These transformer racks of mine are the cheapest - easiest ways to get classic analog console dynamics and saturation into your mixes and masters … give your music a little kiss!
