Original 1954 Gibson GA-6, Gibson's answer to the tweed Deluxe. One of only ~700 GA-6 amps shipped in the model's first year (1954). Roughly 12 watts, 12" Jensen P12R alnico speaker, 2x 6V6 power tubes, 5Y3 rectifier, with a mic channel and instrument channel. Speckled tan covering and burgundy grille cloth are in good shape, and the Gibson script logo is intact.
Original :
- Output and power transformers
- Power tubes and phaser inverter
- Coupling and tone capacitors
- Jensen P12R speaker
- Potentiometers and knobs
- Cabinet, covering, baffle, grill cloth
Replaced:
- Leather handle (period-correct style)
- Filter capacitors (also period-correct style)
- First preamp tube (Mullard 12AX7!)
Safety: grounded 3-prong power cord.
Powers up and plays great — clean headroom, breaking up nicely when pushed. Date codes are in the photos.
Local pickup welcome (Truckee, CA). Shipped double-boxed with tubes removed and packed separately.
