Vintage 1961 Slingerland 7x14 Student Model Snare Drum in Natural Mahogany, made in Niles, Illinois.

Beautiful early-’60s Slingerland with the black-and-gold Niles oval badge, natural mahogany shell, 8-lug configuration.

*Please note the original Slingerland snare throw-off was replaced at some point with a vintage 60s Ludwig P-83 strainer/throw-off. It’s a cool period modification, but worth noting for anyone looking for complete originality.

The drum is in good vintage condition with scratches, scuffs, finish wear and other signs of use consistent with its age. The mahogany still has a beautiful warm finish and tons of character. Please review photos closely for cosmetic condition.

A beautiful piece of early-1960s Slingerland history and a great player's vintage snare. The natural mahogany shell has aged beautifully and the vintage Ludwig throw-off gives it an interesting period-modified history.
