The Meinl 20" Byzance Vintage Crash is a professional B20 crash with the darker, drier, more complex character that makes the Byzance Vintage series so distinctive. Rather than producing the bright, polished response of a conventional crash, this cymbal has a more earthy and textured voice with plenty of warmth, complexity, and musical wash.

The 20" size gives it a broad, full sound with enough body to work as a primary crash, while the Vintage construction keeps the response expressive and organic. Edge Condition - Please Read

There is a small localized dent along the outer edge of the cymbal. This area is specifically photographed and is the primary structural/cosmetic reason I am grading the cymbal conservatively as Good.

The dent does not extend into a crack and there is no missing metal or flea bite at the affected area.

Cosmetic Condition

Sonic Splice Notes

This is definitely a player’s cymbal rather than a collector-condition example, but the sound is the reason I would still recommend it.

The 20" Byzance Vintage Crash has a dark, earthy and complex character with a broad wash that feels very different from a conventional bright crash. It has plenty of texture without becoming harsh, and the larger 20" diameter gives it a full, substantial voice.

Cosmetically, there is noticeable oxidation and finish wear around portions of the cymbal, and there is one small edge dent that I have photographed closely. I am therefore grading it conservatively as Good.

Importantly, I found no cracks, flea bites, keyholing, missing metal, or repairs. The cymbal remains fully playable and sounds great.

For a drummer who prioritizes tone and musical character over pristine cosmetics, this is a very interesting way to get into a high-end Byzance Vintage crash at a much lower price than new.
