A Theremin is an electronic musical instrument. You've heard it in many old horror and science fiction movies. Most people have heard it's sound in the song, Good Vibrations, by the Beach Boys.
It is played without touching it using two antennas. One antenna is for pitch and one is for volume. You wave your hands around the antennas and strange sounds come out. With practice, you can play melodies.
