Well, here we have a wonderful 1961 Fender Stratocaster. We believe it started its life as Dakota Red, and has been refinished once in blue and then stripped. Neck pocket and cavities show both colors, with the neck pickup cavity having tape with blue paint on top of it and red underneath. We also chipped a small amount of the blue off to reveal more red underneath. Back of neck appears to be over-sprayed, but not on the head stock or fingerboard.

Appears to be all original, minus a ground wire to the spring claw we installed, using a proper style of braided cloth wire. (Someone poorly added a short teflon replacement at some point). We also added a low E string saddle spring that was missing, and it's possible a few pickguard screws are incorrect.

Serial number of 65752, a neck date of August 1961, with pot dates being Stackpole's from the 21st and 23rd weeks of 61. (Vol 304-6123, Tone 1 is partially covered by capacitor solder but reads XXX-6121, and Tone 2 304-6123) Switch is correct CRL1452 and cap is a SK1X.

Moderate fret wear, but a HELL of a player. The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard feels amazing.
