This wiring harness and pickups are very clean except for some oxidation on the pots. The unit is fully original with untouched solder joints ready to install. The pickups are stamped Dec. 10th. 1965 and the pots are unreadable as the soldering covers the numbers. I did see a clear 1376xxx so the pots have to be from early 1966 and they have been cleaned internally and are working great.

When I read the pickups on my ohm meter I was a bit alarmed as they read so hot at 11.10 and 11.11 Kohms back to back. so I dug deeper and found out the read was normal and in a good way!

These type Dearmond pickups typically reads between 7.3 kΩ and 7.6 kΩ on a multimeter. While factory specifications target this ~7.5 kΩ range, these vintage pickups were hand-wound, meaning readings can fluctuate. Depending on the specific production batch, factory wire variations (like thin 44 or 45 AWG wire), and natural aging, you may encounter specimens that read anywhere from 9.30 kΩ to 11.20 kΩ.

A 1965 original DeArmond (Rowe Industries) wiring harness most commonly came from mid-1960s multi-pickup hollowbody or semi-hollowbody guitars built by Harmony or sold under the Silvertone brand.

Common Guitar Models

• Harmony H75, H77, and H78: Triple-pickup hollowbody electrics.
• Silvertone Model 1454: Sears/Silvertone's famous three-pickup hollowbody manufactured by Harmony.
• Harmony H53, H54, or Rocket series: Dual- or triple-pickup variations utilizing DeArmond pots, switches, and jacks from that era.

Identifying the Components & Guitar Origin

Based on the dual-pickup layout, the three CTS potentiometers, and the distinct chrome mesh covers, this complete assembly belonged to a 1965 Harmony Rocket (specifically the H54 dual-pickup model) or its Sears-distributed twin, the Silvertone 1421 / 1446 / 1457 series.

These pickups are iconic vintage DeArmond "Indented/Mesh Top" Humbucking-sized single coils (often colloquially referred to by players as "Golden Tone" or "Moustache" style pickups depending on the specific bezel trim, though these are the flush-mount recess versions common to thin-line archtops
