I've spent the last few months on a tone chase — built up a small collection of amps for a shootout here in my office, found the one I'm keeping, and now the rest are going. This is one of those amps.

This is a factory-custom Friedman Smallbox 50 head with matching Friedman 2x12 cabinet, both finished in striking pink tolex with white piping. The set makes for a rare and distinctive Friedman rig, combining one of the company’s most versatile amplifiers with a matching cabinet in a finish you simply do not see very often.

The Smallbox 50 is an exceptionally versatile 50-watt tube amp. Channel 1 delivers the character and response of a classic vintage Plexi, while Channel 2 moves into higher-gain, hot-rodded Friedman territory. It responds beautifully to picking dynamics and cleans up extremely well using your guitar's volume control.

Both the head and cabinet are in excellent working condition.

Cosmetically, there are a couple of very small raised areas or bumps in the pink tolex on the front of the amplifier head, just below the white piping near the center. They are visible if you look for them but are not significant. This is how the amp arrived new from Friedman and appears to simply be a minor result of the hand-built covering process. I do not have a close-up photograph specifically highlighting them, but they can be seen in the listing photos.

The matching pink Friedman 2x12 cabinet is included in this sale, and the head and cabinet are being sold together as a complete package.
