JVC KD-95 STEREO CASSETTE DECK (1978 Top-of-the-Line)

This 1978 unit appears as mint as humanly possible. It is immaculate inside and out, and the manuals still appear unused and crisp. Peering inside with a flashlight (I did not open it) there is no dust at all. Unit was owned by an elderly couple who claim they never used it and had it safely stored in a glass cabinet for decades. Everything works but there is a minor wobble in the playback, so a normal service to refresh the old rubber belts is in order. This tape deck was Top-of-the-Line for JVC in 1978 and retailed for a whopping $530… that’s over $2,724 in today’s money adjusted for inflation, but it is listed here for its original 1978 price. You will rarely see a high quality vintage tape deck in this condition. It appears nearly new inside and out. No dirt, dents, scratches or blemishes (any variations in surface appearance is just photographic reflections. In person the unit looks perfect.) 1978 was the peak of the Japanese manufacturers “Home Stereo Wars” where sound quality and high end components were the focus. After that year the manufacturers all focused on “size and spectacle” which resulted in the enormous speakers and Boomboxes from ‘79 onward. This is fantastic addition to any vintage home stereo setup. Sold as is.
