1991 Fender Stratocaster Plus – One Owner – Exceptional Condition

This is an exceptionally clean, all-original 1990–1991 Fender Stratocaster Plus, purchased new by me in Portland, Oregon, in 1992.

I moved soon after buying the guitar and it has spent most of its life stored, unplayed, in my parents’ climate-controlled Oregon home. My parents are now selling their home of 56 years, and I am selling some of the instruments from my youth that were stored there.

This American-made Blue Pearl Burst guitar retains all the original high-end Strat Plus hardware and electronics, including the Wilkinson roller nut, Schaller locking tuners, TBX tone control, Bi-Flex truss rod, two-point American Standard tremolo and Hipshot Tremsetter.

It also has the original early, much-sought-after flat-top Fender Lace Sensor Gold pickups, with the “Fender-Lace Sensor” lettering printed directly on the tops. This lettering tended to wear off, and Fender recessed it in later versions of this pickup. The fact that the lettering on this guitar remains largely intact is testament to how little it was played.

These Lace Sensors combined with the TBX tone control were designed to give the Strat Plus that bright ’50s bell-like chime with much less noise than standard single-coils. 

The frets are in superb condition with very little wear, and the body, neck and headstock remain exceptionally clean. There are some light surface swirls and a couple of very small marks, shown in the photographs, but no significant dents, dings or other damage. The guitar has never been polished at all. 

The guitar does not come with a case but has already been carefully packed in a guitar shipping box that is inside a larger protective box. It’s ready to go.
