Black Stratocaster for sale. The body is from Bill's Brothers in Japan, the joint venture between the legendary Bill Lawrence, Fender and Gibson designer, and the Japanese Moridaira (Morris) company. The guitars from this venture were produced in Japan in the mid '80's and were highly regarded. This guitar has the Fender Modern Player rosewood neck on it, with a modern C profile and 9.5" radius, which is like the current Player II neck specs, but with a real rosewood fretboard instead of the less expensive Pau Ferro Fender uses now. Pickups are Fender Player and the bridge is Wilkinson high mass.
Parts cost was over $500 several years ago, and the assembly was done locally by an experienced luthier. The guitar plays and sounds like a high-quality Strat should, with intonation up and down the neck set using a Strobotuner.
It is cosmetically very good, with only a few slight surface scratches and one on the lower back, and the frets are virtually new.
