This 435-21, built in 1998, was the #344 instrument made by Michael Tobias under the MTD brand. It features a rare figured Avodire body, wenge neck/board and our original M4 split coil soap bars & 3-band preamp. The bass has the typical wear and tear you’d expect from a nearly 30-year-old instrument, but it sets up and plays beautifully. All components are stock, and the bass weighs 8 lbs, 8 oz.
Embedded is a video of Sue Williams playing this bass with Sheryl Crow & Eric Clapton at the 1998 White House holiday concert.
