About This Listing

Vintage 1970s El Degas Thinline Telecaster in very good condition.
This model was sold under several brand names (Aria, Ibanez, et al.) - El Degas being one of the lesser known ones. It is however identical to the ones bearing a more recognizable name.
You can still see the logo outline on the headstock but the decal has been removed long ago, so the future owner might decide to apply a logo of his choice.

It's equipped with a Maxon neck pickup but the bridge might be a later upgrade - usually these come with a chrome covered bridge PU. My tech says Mighty Mite sold similar pickups in the past, but I have no way to verify it. There is an old Di Marzio sticker on the headstock's back - could this be a vintage Di Marzio? Any info on this mystery pickup will be appreciated.

Tuning keys have been upgraded to Grovers. The metal jackplate may be a later upgrade too.

The fretboard shows an even flame pattern running parallel to the fret wire - very cool and not usual on these knockoffs. Body is in conditions consistent with the guitar's age - the most evident dents and chips are visible in the images. Neck/body joint is nice and tight.

This guitar plays well and sounds good. All it needs is some TLC, new strings and it's ready to churn out some great tones with its vintage vibe.

It will ship in what may very possibly be its original chipboard case, which has been "upgraded" with some styrofoam blocks so that the neck is suspended correctly and the bottom strap pin doesn't pierce a hole through the case bottom.

I strive to over-deliver and believe this priced to sell, but realistic offers from serious Reverbers will be considered.

I always ship with Reverb protection.
