Akai GX-747 4-Track Stereo Open Reel Tape Deck – Serviced, Tested, Excellent Condition
Offered here is an exceptionally nice example of the Akai GX-747, one of Akai's most desirable large-format reel-to-reel tape decks.
This GX-747 has been professionally inspected and serviced, including a full test of all functions, cleaning and flushing of switches and controls, and lubrication of all moving parts as required. All functions have been tested and passed, and the deck is operating excellently in every respect.
Cosmetic condition is also excellent. The brushed aluminum face, control surfaces, reel area and wood side panels present beautifully, with very little visible wear for a machine of this age. Please examine the detailed photographs for the exceptionally clean overall condition.
The GX-747 is one of the great late-generation Akai machines, featuring the company's durable GX glass-and-crystal ferrite heads, direct-drive capstan system, electronic transport controls, auto-reverse operation, digital tape counter and compatibility with large 10.5-inch reels. Its combination of sophisticated engineering and unmistakable Akai styling has made the GX-747 increasingly sought after by serious reel-to-reel enthusiasts and collectors.
The machine is equipped for 110/120/220/240V, 50/60Hz operation (currently set for US voltage) as indicated on the rear panel, making this an especially attractive example for an international buyer.
